Congress is finally moving forward with long-awaited federal sentencing reform. While it will probably not be as comprehensive as we want it to be, it will still be very significant. Many mandatory minimum sentences will be reduced or eliminated and it will give thousands of federal prisoners the ability to re-open their cases for re-sentencing.
